For most families, their child’s 21st birthday is a celebration of the beginning of independent living as an adult. However, this can be a scary time for parents of children with ASD. Up until the age of 21, children with ASD are entitled to a high-level of support and services through the public-school system. At the age of 21, these services are discontinued. Services and supports become based on eligibility, and unfortunately, availability. Adults with ASD still require highly specialized and intensive services beyond their school years. Many adults with ASD have needs that far exceed the resources available. There are a limited number of high-quality ABA programs for adult with ASD. These programs are usually at capacity and have a waiting list. They deserve continued supports to ensure the opportunity to learn skills to live, work, and enjoy life in their community as participating adults. Your donations are vital so that Team 94 can provide the services that adults with ASD need and deserve. Thank you for your generosity. To donate, click the button below.
